Friends
Birds of a feather flock together in inner city enabling the different societal expressions to be recognized by the group, blending into the bleak urban environment.
Last Friday the 12th of October movie and whiskey loving Amsterdam gathered in the Westerpark to see the latest Andrew Dominik movie “Killing Them Softly”. There’s nothing soft about this muscular filmmaking. Killing Them Softly is a movie that wants you to know it’s being Directed with a capital D. It’s a film that reflects its characters’ social and economic weariness and uncertainty but bites back, though with the blackest humour and bleakest worldview. Nice work if you can get it. And for Brad Pitt and director Andrew Dominik, business is booming.
The former “Western Gas Factory” was the venue for the fourth edition of the now legendary Vans Downtown Showdown. Movie screenings, music, a public skate feature, art activation, Neck Face, legends, skaters (yes, many boys), parties, Suicidal Tendencies, Monster Energy condoms and drinks. Such a good weekend!
Can you remember that post about Bacardi who exists 150 years and will celebrate it with 150 parties throughout the year? 1/150 was awesome! Going wild with cool kid Tess in a beautiful building, with beautiful people, with beautiful music and yes, delicious drinks! The day after I brushed my teeth with was left from those pitchers of Mojitos. So hung over I didn’t even care. Can’t wait for the next parties, so please count me in for 2/150!
